EXPERIENCE COMMUNITY LIFE AT IBC
Our Ministry Life
Independent Baptist Church of Pound desires that every member be active in ministry with their God-given spiritual gifts.
We are a biblically balanced church that teaches others what the perfect Word of God teaches and encourages all of us to obey it! We believe that the Bible is God’s story showing us how God is getting glory to Himself by redeeming his fallen Creation.
Please join us for a service and allow us to serve you. God’s love for you is the driving force behind the messages we preach and the ministries we perform.
Independent Baptist is in Pound, VA at 8300 Main Street (Business US 23) a few yards north of the Rescue Squad and on the same side of the street as it is located.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
During the Sunday School hour, IBC offers age specific classes and groups for everyone. Each class is designed to effectively, practically and sincerely teach God's Word.
WORSHIP SERVICE
IBC’s Sunday morning Worship Service is a unified program that begins at 11:00 a.m. You will experience our singing of great, familiar hymns, as well as new songs written by current composers. Our preaching and teaching are based on God’s Word and show our love for people and desire to serve others. Pastor Randy applies Scripture in a practical, compassionate and biblical manner; as he encourages us to understand and do what God’s Word teaches. He strives to serve and minister to others through relational, practical and Biblical instruction. As a result of seeking a biblically balanced basis, many find our methods thought-provoking, creative and practical. A children’s service is provided.
AWANA
IBC utilizes AWANA clubs to minister to our youth. This program meets Sunday at 6:00 p.m. during the school year and provides the opportunity to learn the Bible, participate in drama and music productions and enjoy special trips.
SUMMER PROGRAM
We believe that children and youth can learn much about the Bible and provide a summer program to meet their specific needs on Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m.
PRAYER MEETING
At IBC we have seen and continue to see how prayer changes things. In additional to private prayer, we meet once a week on Wednesday evening to have a brief Bible study, share prayer requests and pray for needs in our church and community.
VAN MINISTRY
We provide transportation to our services with our church van. Those needing this service can call the church.
CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
Pastor Randy offers those interested in learning more about the church the opportunity to meet with him. It gives the pastor an important opportunity to meet with new individuals and families and talk about the history of IBC, ministry opportunities and our vision for the future.

Our worship services are a time of joyful worship and praise, as we sing a variety of God-focused hymns and new songs. For the preaching, Pastor Randy preaches Bible-based messages that are timely and applicable.
At the end of the services, Pastor Randy typically invites the congregation to respond to the message - to accept Christ as Savior, to make a spiritual decision, or simply to pray. Biblical counseling is available during this time as well.
Services generally last 1 hour and 15 minutes.
You can expect to be greeted and welcomed by members who will be happy to direct you and answer any questions you may have during your visit. It is easy to find your way around in our one-story facility. Information is available from any usher and classes and a nursery are available for all ages.
Attending a service or class is a good start. Fill out a visitor card and Pastor Randy will gladly contact you. Also, friendly people are everywhere to answer your questions and provide you with information about Independent Baptist’s ministries and events. Pastor Randy will be glad to meet with you and answer any additional questions you may have.
